First, wash the lentils and put them on the heat with some water to cook. Then chop the spinach, onion, and garlic.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the onion and garlic until golden brown. Add the turmeric and spinach and when the lentils are cooked, pour them into the spinach pot along with the lentil water, salt, pepper and 1 tablespoon of cumin.
Close the pot lid and let it cook on low heat for 2 hours until the soup is completely absorbed.
You can garnish and serve the soup with a tablespoon of cumin and a little orange juice.
Make sure to wash the lentils 5 hours before cooking.
